This project was a response to the food crisis (Hunger situation) which had hit Karamoja region in 2022. The emergency response was funded by OXFAM Uganda; it started from December 2022 and ended in March 2023. The project targeted areas faced with acute malnutrition, but not being reached by other development partners and/or GOU (Government of Uganda), in Nabilatuk and Napak districts. Caritas Moroto with support from OXFAM provided a cash response to 599 affected households in the above mentioned two districts. The targeted Households were homes to acutely malnourished Children Under Five (CU5), PWDs, Pregnant & Lactating women and the elderly.
