Livelihoods

The strategic objective is enhanced production, productivity and commercialization of crop, livestock, poultry and apiary value chains in order to ensure increased household income and wellbeing.

The programs include:

Building Resilience Together (BRT)

Project which focuses on building resilience of 2,000 vulnerable women and youth by fostering adoption of new technologies/climate-smart practices in crop and livestock production and productivity and Strengthen the value addition and marketing systems of small-scale farmers in local communities in Napak District.

Restore Africa (RESAF)

Project which aims to Improve landscapes and smallholder and/or pastoralist resilience to climate shocks.

Karamoja Livelihood and Income Opportunities Project (KLIO)

It aims to Improve livelihoods of vulnerable households in the districts of Nakapiripirit, Nabilatuk and Napak through production for consumption and markets. It will Increase food productivity amongst 2,250 vulnerable households, Increase access to stable and diversified sources of income through commercialization of high value Crops amongst 2,250 vulnerable households and 30 institutions and Promote Community Nutrition Social and Behaviour change practices at individual and HH levels and adoption of Optimized Land Use Management (OLUM) approach to cause change at all levels.
